Greenville Downtown Art Project
One of the winning entries of the Change Your World Writing Contest was a proposal for historical murals in downtown Greenville. Since January, the DAC has been working with Main Street Greenville and the Main Street Youth Committee on making this idea come to life.
Our dreams for this project came one step closer to become reality when we partnered with the Greenville Arts Partnership and received a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission. With a strong financial foundation, we moved forward and secured a space right on Washington Avenue in the heart of downtown Greenville. With the help of Kansas-based artist David Loewenstein, the students of Ella Darling Elementary conceptualized and created the following mural, entitled Tree of Dreams.
